Now it may sound like a great idea, and I’m sure the concept entirely markets itself, but is a naked gym really a good idea?
We’ve seen plenty of naked gym parodies in the past (plus a tonne of porn) that made us dream of a world where this could be true. Where benches would be strewn with sprawling men, and every pull up would bring right up to eye-level. Alas, this was always a pipedream… until now!
The very same gym that supposedly trains the likes of Tom Cruise and Rihanna will begin offering nude workout sessions, claiming to be “all about creating a ‘new (‘nu-de’) you’, as guests burn the calories whilst nude” according to the Harry Hanson’s Facebook page.
You may love the idea of Austin Armacost’s bubble butt jiggling in your eye-line while he uses the cross-trainer, but when he starts doing squats in front of you you get more than an eyeful!

What are the benefits of exercising naked?
Having bravely explored the world of naked fitness training myself a few years back, I can tell you that it’s not as simple as it seems. Paul, owner of NKD Training, explained that there were a lot of benefits of working with clients in the buff while they work to get buff.
“As a trainer there are a lot of benefits. I can see more of the muscles that are working and I can see if there’s an imbalance, say when they’re doing a chest press. You don’t just see the bar moving, you see the muscles that are working, the ones that aren’t and the ones that should be. And it builds a bond, being naked. I don’t know how to explain it.”
Harry Hanson, the founder of this ingenious new workout, claims there are plenty of other benefits to working out naked that make this as practical a solution as it is titillating.
“Working out without clothes provides a number of benefits to your exercise including skin breathing, the release of endorphins due to Vitamin D from sunlight and complete body awareness so you can see if you’re cheating on your exercise routines.”
…
I’ll accept the body awareness thing, but Vitamin D? There’s D involved in this decision, but it ain’t a vitamin! This has to be the weakest argument for stripping off since 2002 when Nelly tried to convince us it would help us cool down if we took off all our clothes.
“Our approach makes sure our members get and stay in the absolute best shape, and our new naked personal fitness sessions are no exception. This new development brings with it a range of fitness and health benefits and allows our members to have a little cheeky fun in the process!”
There’s also an option for guests to wear nude-coloured underwear if they don’t feel “comfortable” exercising totally naked. Which just seems like an open invitation for pervs.
Nude workouts remain popular
There’s no denying that nude exercise and nude workout classes are becoming increasingly popular, with naked yoga being fairly common around the world. So why I suppose it was only a matter of time before the clothes came off elsewhere too.
